I believe the gist of this is that they are changing the language from "commitments" to "admissions" because commitments are often necessary and imminent, while admissions could feasiblely be reduced if each county had a better system in place for jail diversion and inpatient treatment for mental health in general. Missoula County is always going to be right up there with the other big counties, population-wise as far as admissions or commitments go. I think this will actually help us and not hurt us (though there is no way to be sure). I say we support it if there is a way to do that at this juncture.
