HB 211

LC0759
Pat Ingraham

Revise laws relating to municipal general obligation bonds

2 comments:

  1. This bill provides counties the authority to issue general obligation debt in order to pay the costs of a judgement. Current law requires that additional levies are imposed to pay the judgement over three years. This change would be a valuable tool, especially in the case of large judgements. However, Missoula County believes the bill should be amended to make it clear that this debt is not subject to the voter approval under 7-7-2402.

  2. Sent to Missoula Reps:

Missoula County supports HB 211 - revise laws relating to municipal general obligation bonds, before the House on second reading this afternoon. Current law requires that additional levies are imposed to pay the judgement over three years. This change would be a valuable tool, especially in the case of large judgements. Please support HB 211.
    Respectfully,
Dale Bickell on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners
