HB 316 allocates many revenues that were restricted in state special revenue funds and places them in the general fund for appropriation at each legislative session. There are several programs included in this bill that may have a long term impact on Missoula County:
[1] - Missoula County works closely with economic development organization partners using Department of Commerce programs that are reduced under this bill. It is important to at least retain the funding in these programs in this time where job creation is most needed.
[2] Coal tax funding reductions to the state library will impact Missoula Library patrons access to core statewide database information
[3] Reductions to the Natural Resources Projects Account will impact mine reclamation grants that are currently being used to clean-up old mine wastes along Nine Mile Creek
