Missoula County opposes SB 379 - Generally revise county zoning laws, before the House on 2nd reading today. SB 379 effectively eliminates the ability of a majority of landowners in an area to promote effective zoning in their communities, which almost five square miles of individual landowners have requested in the Seeley Lake area. Under this bill, it appears that no county in the state will be able to either amend current zoning districts or create new ones even when requested to do so by a majority of landowners.
