Missoula County opposes House Bill 434 - Revise Comprehensive Environmental Cleanup and Responsibility Act, before the House Natural Resources Committee on Monday afternoon. HB 434 would amend the State Superfund law with the principle effect of increasing paperwork and the burdens of litigation for DEQ in attempting to compel responsible parties to clean up hazardous waste. HB 434 will further slow down cleanup, while increasing DEQ costs and may jeopardize public health, and certainly hurt Missoula by precluding redevelopment. Please oppose HB 434. Respectfully, Dale Bickell on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners
