Denise Alexander writes: Oppose: This appears to be another way to curtail interim zoning when it involves sand and gravel opencut mining. Although more to the point than SB 183, it seems to make the presumption that just filing an application for an opencut mine establishes a vested right ahead of a zoning project that may be in process, whether interim or permanent.
Missoula County opposes House Bill 402 - revise zoning laws for sand and gravel, before the House on second reading this afternoon. HB 402 would curtail interim zoning when it involves sand and gravel opencut mining and presumes that filing an application for an opencut mine establishes a vested right ahead of a zoning project that may be in process, whether interim or permanent. Please oppose HB 402. Respectfully, Dale Bickell on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners
